Please take some time this week to brain storm and submit ideas for fun activities for our picnic weekend. Please denote applicable age group. Please keep in mind total cost and time allotted for activity and provide cost estimate with your post. One more challenge is to see if you can incorporate Bulgaria into your activity. We want the activity posted either way… so put your thinking caps on and get posting!!!

In thinking of ideas, please keep in mind that some of the local Bulgarians here in Cincinnati have agreed to help with activities on Saturday if there is interest. So, if you'd like a Bulgarian dance lesson, Bulgarian storytelling around the fire, a Bulgarian language activity or a Bulgarian song for the children to learn, let us know.
ReplyDeleteWhat about some kind of scavenger hunt. Could include most age groups (younger kids with help) and we could incorporate things that are Bulgarian.
ReplyDeleteViviane, I won't be there this year but if I was I think the idea of learning a bulgarian song and dance is awesome. Maybe song for all ages and the dance could be for the older kids 4 and older. Musical chairs is an idea too, played with Bulgarian music. For the 1-6 age group a puppet show telling a Bulgarian story of some sort. The 1-3 age group wont sit very long and they don't have a very long attention span. I think a treasure hunt is also a good idea. Hide things Bulgarian that have meaning and explain the meanings.Take photos I would love to see them. Thanks for doing this.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas guys... I will most definitely take tons of pictures!! I will post them here for everyone to see how much fun it was and will be for years to come!! I am loving the dance and music ideas!! I want to learn too!! I have a BG kids CD for musical chairs... we could use camp chairs... kids would have a blast! :)
